Global good news from WHO

On 17 August the World Health Organization (WHO) named Mr Michael R. Bloomberg, philanthropist and former three-term Mayor of the City of New York, as Global Ambassador for Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs).

FEND congratulates WHO on this strategically important appointment and thanks Mr Bloomberg for his generosity in accepting. His track record in public health is a shining example of political leadership in the battle to improve citizens' health. We look forward to his contribution and leadership in this area of public health.
